Our Process

Every project follows a structured process to ensure clarity, collaboration, and an exceptional final product.

1. Creative Strategy

Every project begins with a strategy phase where we discuss your business, goals, audience, functionality, design preferences, and overall vision.

This allows us to establish a strong creative direction before design begins.

 

2. Content Collection

Before we begin designing, we'll gather the materials needed to build your website.

This may include:

• Website copy

• Logos

• Brand guidelines

• Images

• Videos

• Product information

• Service descriptions

• Pricing

• Legal policies

• Any additional requested assets

The quality and timeliness of your content directly impacts your project timeline.

 

3. Design & Development

Once your initial payment has been received and your content has been reviewed, we'll begin designing and developing your website.

This includes creating layouts, implementing your branding, building responsive pages, integrating agreed-upon functionality, and preparing your website for review.

 

Payment Schedule

Your project is officially reserved once the initial payment has been received.

Our payment schedule is as follows:

• 50% non-refundable deposit due before work begins.

• 30% payment due following approval of the initial Design Review before continued development.

• Final 20% payment due prior to website launch and transfer of ownership.

Work may be paused if scheduled payments are not received.

All payments are non-refundable.

 

Review Process

Every website includes three structured review phases.

These review phases allow us to refine your website while keeping your project moving efficiently.

Phase One — Design Review

We'll review the overall creative direction, page layouts, wireframes, design style, and visual system together.

This phase ensures we're aligned before significant development continues.

 

Phase Two — Website Review

Once your website has been substantially completed, you'll review the site and provide one consolidated list of requested refinements.

 

Phase Three — Final Launch Review

We'll complete a final walkthrough together, address any remaining refinements, and prepare your website for launch.

Following final approval and receipt of the remaining balance, your website will be launched.

 

Additional Revisions

Your project includes the three review phases described above.

Requests submitted after the final review or requests that significantly change previously approved work may require additional time and will be quoted separately before work begins.

 

Scope of Work

Your proposal outlines exactly what is included within your project.

Examples of work outside the original scope include:

• Additional pages

• New functionality

• E-commerce features not originally agreed upon

• Membership systems

• Booking systems

• Additional branding work

• Copywriting

• Custom illustrations

• Significant redesign requests

• Additional integrations

Any additional work will require a revised proposal or change order before development continues.

 

Client Responsibilities

To help your project stay on schedule, you agree to:

• Provide requested content in a timely manner.

• Review work promptly.

• Submit feedback in one organized list during each review phase.

• Make payments according to the agreed schedule.

• Maintain communication throughout the project.

• Ensure all information provided is accurate and complete.

 

Project Timeline

Estimated timelines are based upon:

• Timely communication

• Prompt approvals

• Delivery of requested content

• Scheduled payments

Delays in any of these areas may result in adjustments to the estimated completion date.

 

Project Inactivity

If we do not receive the requested content, approvals, or communication from you for 30 consecutive days, your project will be considered inactive.

To resume an inactive project:

• Your project will be placed back into our current production schedule based on availability.

• Additional onboarding or restart fees may apply.

• Previous payments remain non-refundable.

 

Third-Party Services & Expenses

Clients are responsible for purchasing and maintaining any third-party products or subscriptions required for their website.

These may include:

• Website platform subscriptions (Wix, Showit, Squarespace, Shopify, etc.)

• Domain registration

• Website hosting

• Premium fonts

• Stock photography

• Plugins

• Premium applications

• Booking software

• CRM systems

• Email marketing platforms

• Business email services

• Payment processors

• Accessibility software

• Any additional software or licenses required for the project

Unless specifically included in your proposal, these costs are not included in your project fee.

 

Ownership

Ownership of your completed website transfers to you only after your final invoice has been paid in full.

Until final payment has been received:

• All design files remain the property of Made You Think Designs.

• The website may not be transferred, duplicated, or repurposed without written permission.

Once payment has been completed, you receive ownership of the completed website deliverables as outlined in your proposal. Any third-party software, fonts, templates, or licensed assets remain subject to their own licensing terms.

 

Portfolio Rights

We're proud of the work we create.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Made You Think Designs reserves the right to display completed projects, screenshots, branding, and related work in our portfolio, website, social media, and marketing materials.

 

Website Launch

Before launch, we'll perform a final quality review to ensure your website is functioning as intended.

Launch includes:

• Connecting your domain (if applicable)

• Final testing

• Website handoff

After launch, any new requests outside the agreed scope may be quoted separately unless covered by an active maintenance plan.

 

Maintenance Plans

Website maintenance is offered separately from website design projects.

Available plans and billing schedules are outlined on our website and may change over time.

Current billing structure:

• Flow — billed annually

• Evolve — billed annually

• Growth — billed every six months

Each plan includes different levels of ongoing support. Services are limited to the features included in the selected plan.

 

Accessibility

Accessibility is an important part of creating an inclusive online experience.

When accessibility services are included within your project scope, Made You Think Designs will implement the agreed accessibility improvements. However, accessibility is an ongoing process, and no website can be guaranteed to remain fully compliant as content, technologies, browsers, and regulations evolve.

 

Limitation of Liability

Made You Think Designs is not responsible for losses resulting from:

• Client-provided content

• Third-party platforms or software

• Hosting issues

• Domain providers

• Search engine changes

• Platform updates

• Service interruptions

• Events beyond our reasonable control

 

Changes to These Policies

These Studio Policies may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our services or business practices.
